A high level of social acceptance is always the primary key to widely open the door to bring new technologies to society. However, in order to achieve social acceptance, safety, security, efficiency and comfort need to be defined. Highly automated and fully autonomous vehicles will help to contribute to fulfilling these factors.
We strongly believe that automated vehicles are the logical next step to a more desirable and sustainable future, as this technology will aid in reducing accidents that can result in injuries and property damage.
We aim to inspire confidence in every human being who interacts with our vehicles by holistically validating them.
Additional benefits will be realized by limiting waste of energy sources and reducing wear of vehicle parts.
Automated and fully autonomous vehicles will be the optimum choice in nearly every aspect of energy use, running costs and traffic efficiency.
The role of the vehicle driver will convert into that of route operators or freight & fleet managers, meaning that their day-to-day tasks will become more efficient, productive, and safe. On-demand traffic management will be become more attractive and cost-effective, especially in rural regions with all the flexibility of such services those regions are waiting for.
Our contribution to this outstanding and sustainable vision is the appropriate purpose design Mover platform which concentrates on the safety of the passenger and that of vulnerable road users, whilst maintaining the availability of the vehicle for its tasks. Our customizable interface can be adapted effortlessly to suit all use-cases that demand specific solutions.
Furthermore, we are focusing our attention on international legal and ethical aspects in order to further our goal of high social acceptance.
Sensible 4 autonomous driving software is world-leading in self-driving under demanding weather conditions and enables autonomous driving in weather conditions like rain and snowfall which is crucial in Europe. The self-driving software is specially developed for shuttle busses and last-mile operation, making it a perfect match for the PeopleMover. Sensible 4 autonomous driving software has been tested continuously in Nordic weather conditions for example in Norway and Finland as well as in Switzerland.
The two partners' target is to bring the all-weather SAE Level 4 autonomous shuttle bus to the European market in 2023. The self-driving shuttle bus will not require a safety driver on board.
Sensible 4 Oy is a Finnish self-driving technology company based in Finland. The company develops full-stack autonomous driving software that enables vehicles to drive automatically. The unique technology combines software and information from several different sensors, enabling vehicles to operate in all weather conditions, including snowfall and fog. In 2022 it will launch the world’s first commercial all-weather software product, Dawn, for SAE level 4 driverless last-mile shuttles.
The founders of Sensible 4 have been developing autonomous vehicles since the ‘80s. In February 2020, Sensible 4 secured 7 million dollars in series A funding round from Japanese investors and the technology has won multiple awards, including 1st place in the Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport 2019 competition and the Finnish Engineering Prize in 2020.
